Beauty Essentials: Hair Products
Hey guys! I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my hair recently asking what products I use, how I keep it long and healthy, etc. So today I’m sharing all of my favorite hair products and tools plus why I love them!
I get my hair done at The Fix Salon by Heather Copeland! She has been doing my hair for over 4 years now and she’s awesome! I always trust her with my highlights and trims. I don’t really do anything crazy color/cut wise. Every 3 months or so I will get highlights for spring/summer or lowlights in the fall/winter just slightly lighter or darker than my natural color to give my hair some dimension and so that it’s not a crazy upkeep. I usually only get a little trim too, my hair has been long for a while and I don’t plan on chopping it anytime soon haha. If you live in Central AR check her out!
I wash my hair every other day or every 2 days depending on the week and what I have going on! I just use dry shampoo on the days I don’t wash. I also don’t blow dry my hair that often which I think is what helps keep mine healthy because it’s getting less heat damage. I wash my hair at night and typically just let it air dry, and then style it the next morning! Here are ALL of the products I use listed below!
Shampoo & Conditioner
Olaplex No. 4 Shampoo – I have been using the Olaplex brand since August and my hair is the healthiest it has ever been! My mom tried their products first and her hair looked so healthy I wanted to try it out too! I will say the bottles are pretty small for the price BUT a little goes a long way with their products and 1 bottle of shampoo and conditioner has lasted me over 5 months so far! You really only need to use a dime size of shampoo! Other brands I’ve always felt like I need to use a ton of shampoo to get my hair clean! This shampoo really heals damaged hair and keeps it healthy!
Olaplex No. 5 Conditioner – I use the Olaplex conditioner too and love it! It keeps my hair moisturized and shiny!
Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector – If you don’t try the Olaplex shampoo or conditioner, get this product! The Olaplex No. 3 repairs and strengthens your hair and it is amazing! You are supposed to apply it to damp hair and rinse out a little later but I actually just sleep in it so it has maximum time to soak into my hair. If you highlight or color your hair, or use heat frequently this is so good for keeping your hair healthy and protect it from breakage. I try to use it about once a week! My hair has never been so healthy, shiny, thick and long since I started using these products! My mom has been loving them too!
Texture Spray
Kristin Ess Texture Spray – I am so happy I discovered this texture spray! I love the scent too. When I’m done curling my hair I spray this throughout my curls and run my fingers through to soften them. This texture spray creates a lot of volume and makes your hair look more full. You can find it at target!
Hairspray
TRESemeè Extra Hold Hairspray – I’ve been using this hairspray literally since high school! It’s always my go to and doesn’t leave my hair too stiff or sticky. It is lightweight and it’s cheap!
Dry Shampoo
Living Proof Dry Shampoo – This is the best dry shampoo I’ve ever tried! It doesn’t leave a white residue and it smells great and works amazing! The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is pricey so I don’t buy it that often!
Not Your Mother’s Plump For Joy Dry Shampoo – This is my favorite drug store brand of dry shampoo! The plump for joy one works great and smells nice. When you apply your dry shampoo, spray it all over your roots and let it sit for a minute or two. Then take your blow dryer and blow dry your roots and run your hands through it to work it in! This is a little trick I discovered and it helps get rid of the white residue (if there is any) and it makes my hair feel more fresh!
Leave in Conditioners
It’s a 10 Miracle Leave in Conditioner – This is another product I’ve been using for years! I like to spray this on the ends of my hair after I shower if my ends are feeling dry! It helps smooth your hair and reduce frizz.
Pantene Rescue Shots – I love these little hair rescue shots! They are very inexpensive and they are AWESOME! If you feel like your hair is feeling dry or dull use one of these after washing your hair, leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse it out! Your hair will feel SO soft afterwards.
Hair Tools
T3 Micro Whirl Trio Curling Wand– The T3 curling wand it my favorite! One it is so pretty haha who doesn’t love the white and rose gold? It is an investment but I have had mine for over 2 years and use it almost daily. They are very well made and make the perfect curls. I love that this one is interchangeable and comes with 3 sizes of barrels to create different size curls. The 1in size is the one I use most often!
T3 Singlepass Luxe Straightener 1in. – I hardly ever straighten my hair, I wear it curled most days but when I do straighten it I use the T3!
T3 Cura Hair Dryer– I also have the T3 Cura hair dryer (they make great products). I love that it matches my other tools too but it is a great blow dryer and gets your hair dry so fast!
Bed Head Hair Waver – I purchased this on Amazon on a whim and it is a great hair tool! It makes beaachy/crimped waves and I love it for switching up my hair style sometimes and it’s only $25!
Gimme Beauty Hair Ties – These are my favorite hair ties! I’ve tried tele ties and I’m not crazy about them. These don’t leave a crease in my hair at all. They come in different sizes but the extra thick ones are my favorite for giving you a perky high pony! I use the skinny ones for messy buns!
Heat Protectant
TRESemmè Thermal Heat Protectant – This is another oldie but a goodie! I’ve been using this heat protectant for years and it is super affordable!
