How My Etsy Shop Got Started
I started an Etsy shop almost 2 years ago called Chloe Layne Co. (named after my dog Chloe of course). It all started because a few of my students’ sweet moms got together and bought me a Cricut machine for Valentine’s Day! Talk about a teacher’s dream come true! It was seriously such a sweet and generous gift for them to give me. I LOVE crafting and being creative so I could not wait to start using my Cricut. I played around making different paper products but I really loved applying vinyl to different things the most. I had seen a “glitter mug” on pinterest and decided to give it a try. (Because adding glitter to anything instantly makes it better)! I experimented with a bunch of different products (and failed many times), but then found the perfect way to seal the glitter without it shedding or dulling the sparkle. I posted a few different ones on Facebook and was surprised by how many people wanted one! After that I decided to open an etsy shop to hopefully occupy my time during summer break. I kept creating new designs and was shocked by the amount of business I received. I NEVER dreamed that my crafts would turn into a real business! There were challenges along the way from figuring out how to apply for a business license to paying quarterly taxes, but I love my little side hustle and am so thankful for Etsy! With that being said, if you have a talent or a crafty edge GO FOR IT! Here are some of the different products offered in my shop, and of course I can create custom designs as well!
